Our clients recently embarked on developing a sizable lot of land in rural Kansas and our Team was tasked with designing the function of each livable space. With an understanding of the goal, we began conceptualizing the centralized home that will be connected to smaller living spaces scattered around their entire property.

The clients are envisioning an effortless retreat that pays close attention and highlighting the local raw materials being utilized for this build.

A wabi sabi sensibility of the imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete, guided our choices for furnishings and key design features. A clear indoor/outdoor relationship takes inspiration from the delicacy of the nature that surrounds this entire property.

With these design parameters our Team created a cavernous retreat that keeps sustainability front and centered with a strong connections to its land.
